One Bike, Any Trail…Every Budget.
As soon as it hit the dirt, the Pivot Switchblade started racking up awards throughout the cycling media. Why? Because it's an ultra-light, ultra-capable aggressive trail bike that punches way above its weight class. The Switchblade aluminum provides the same award-winning design for less cash, with a frame that's crafted from the most sophisticated, hydro-formed aluminum frame components anywhere.
The Switchblade is one bike that does an amazing amount of things well: You can chalk a lot of that up to its innovative approach to geometry. With a long and low front center, the bike gives you a centered, “in the bike” feel that adds stability at high speeds. “Balanced” is the word that best describes the Switchblade’s angles. The Switchblade’s 67.25-degree head angle is slack enough to lend the bike a calm and neutral line on the toughest descents, but not so relaxed that you’ll encounter wheel flop on steep climbs. The bike’s 74.25-degree seat angle provides an optimal climbing position that increases traction. The Switchblade also possesses one of the shortest rear centers in its class, with super-short chainstays that give the bike a snappy, lively feel on tight trails. It’s truly the best of both worlds.
The Switchblade is compatible with both 29-inch and 27.5-inch plus wheel sizes and offers class-leading mud and tire clearance. This is achieved by borrowing Super Boost 157mm rear spacing from downhill bikes. Want to run a 29er set-up to achieve maximum rollover and quick handling? Go for it. Looking for unrivaled traction and a more forgiving, stable ride quality in loose, rocky conditions? 27.5-plus tires are the way to go. Super Boost also improves frame stiffness, increases wheel durability, and allows front derailleur compatibility. For a supple and active suspension, the Switchblade comes equipped with a burly Fox 36 160mm-travel fork and the amazingly efficient dw-link rear suspension, providing you with all the traction you need to clean the trickiest technical sections. And for the ultimate in durability and functionality, each component is selected to give you the best experience on the trail.
