Meet Our Trailhead Staff and Ambassadors

Anders Burdick-Levang

My favorite place to ride would definitely be the Elm Creek single track because it’s close to my home and easily accessible. I also love traveling up to Spirit Mountain, or Detroit Mountain for some lift fed riding.

This summer I’m looking forward to racing more enduro events and hopefully make the podium at one.

When Anders isn't on his bike or working at Trailhead he coaches for the Loppet Foundation.

Josh Coder Trailhead Ambassador

Josh Coder

My favorite place to ride is anywhere on my bike.

This summer I'm looking forward to getting my daughter into more gravel riding.

Josh leads our Trailhead Ride: Dirt Church. The ride is on Father's Day and is Dirt/Gravel ride. There will be a 12, 20, 30, and 60 mile course with Beer and Hot Dogs at the finish.  Have fun and ride your bike and bring along your supporting, loving family.

Matt Omann

My favorite place to ride is up at Cuyuna.

This summer I am looking forward to not being in school and enjoying as much time outside as possible.

Fun Fact: I was the youngest cyclists to complete pedaling my own bike(not an a trailer bike) the full MS150.

My favorite place to ride is up on the north shore. There is nothing more perfect than biking along Lake Superior and for a moment feeling like I'm part of the vastness of the lake and the Northwoods.

I am really looking forward to doing more mountain biking this year and I have plans to race the Lutsen 99er, hop into a few Marathon races as part of the MNMTB Series, and racing the Marji Gesick 100 in September. I love riding mountain bikes with my wife and playing with my puppy.

I will be leading a Saturday Morning Gravel Ride that will start up in June. Stay tuned for more information. I can't wait to see you out there riding.

Paruj Acharya

I like being around bikes and people who like bikes. I encourage my friends and family to ride bikes because its a great lifelong sport and its fun.

Both road and mountain biking are awesome. I only started mountain biking last year but it definitely is my favorite. And then there is also fat biking. I love it all.

Riding Elm Creek is really nice it's close to home and I'm familiar with it, but I'm always excited to try new trails.

This summer I am looking forward to riding the single track with my 7 year old son and riding in the Tour de Cure, MS150, Lutsen 99er, UHCCF Century ride, Tour de Tonka and other rides with family and friends.

There is no other feeling in the world that is like rolling fast through the trees or as confidence inducing as navigating a technical rock garden. It is hard to nail down a favorite place, but if I have to... Pincushion up in Grand Marais. The trail is technical, rocky and has some fun flow sections. My favorite is climbing up to the top and looking out over Lake Superior. I grew up on The Gunflint Trail, and Pincusion smells like, feels like, and looks like home. Its magical.

I am really looking forward to adventures with my husband and puppy in our new adventure van, in riding as much dirt as possible and participating in the MN MTB Series this summer.

Isaac Niebeling

Issac is one of our most enthusiastic mountain bikers. Every Thursday at 6:00pm he leads a ride at Elm Creek (The Thursday Ride). The ride leaves from the Elm Creek Single Track Parking Lot.

Karen Gardener

My favorite place to ride is really anywhere. I really just love being out on my bike.

I am most looking forward to this summer is racing and participating in theMadison 1/2 ironman event, Lutsen 99er, and Trailhead Wednesday evening group rides.

A fun fact about myself is that I’ll try anything once. Lutsen 99er for example I’m not a mountain single track ride at all to be pretty clear I’ve only been on a full suspension bike twice in my life.  This sounded like fun so why not give it a whirl. life is to short to not try something that’s scares you from time to time.
